Amelia Kerr
100% Cricket Superstar
When Ellyse Perry stuck out her boot to deny New Zealand a run and the 2010 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup trophy, a mesmerised 10-year-old Amelia Kerr was inspired to become a White Fern. Six years later, she made her international debut and did not take long to make headlines by scoring a record 232* against Ireland in 2018, the highest individual score in women’s ODIs. She also took 5 wickets in the same match, establishing her growing reputation as one of the best all-rounders in the game. Hailing from a cricketing family, Amelia says she watched her elder sister (Jess) play and got bored and started playing the sport herself. Kerr debuted for New Zealand at 14 and quickly rose to prominence. She continues to be a crucial player for New Zealand across formats, demonstrating her match-winning capabilities with bat and ball. She was named in the ICC Women’s ODI and T20I Teams of the Year in 2023.
