In a batting line-up where much of the focus is on the experienced Chamari Athapaththu, Harshitha Samarawickrama has steadily established herself in the top order.
Since her debut in 2016, Samarawickrama has quickly ascended through the ranks, becoming a key figure in Sri Lanka's batting group. Samarawickrama made history in 2024 by becoming only the third Sri Lankan woman to score a century in ODIs. She was a key figure in Sri Lanka’s maiden Asia Cup win in 2024, scoring an unbeaten half-century against India in the final.
