Across 1,194 combined First Class and List A matches, Graham Gooch notched up 67,057 runs, a record which still stands today. In the Test arena, he scored 8,900 runs, including 333 against India, the only Test triple century to be hit at Lord's.

Born on July 23, 1953, Graham Gooch was one of the most successful international batsmen of his generation, and also captained Essex and England during a career spanning 27 years from 1973 till 2000. He scored 67,057 runs across first-class and List-A games, and was the leading Test run-scorer for England with 8,900 runs from 118 games. He is also one of only five Englishmen to score a triple century in Tests, achieved against India at Lord’s in 1990.
