With one of the most elegant run ups in history, Michael Holding racked up 249 Test wickets at an average of 23.68. His match figures of 14/149, v England in 1976, remain the best produced by a West Indies bowler.

'Whispering Death' as he was called, Michael Holding is one of the fastest and finest bowlers to have played Test cricket. His bowling was characterised by his ability to generate plenty of bounce and zip off the pitch due to his height.
Holding broke the record for the best bowling figures in a Test match by a West Indian in 1976 when he picked up 14 wickets for 149 runs against England, a record that is intact even today. He picked up 249 wickets 60 Tests, and was celebrated in June 1988 on the $2 Jamaican stamp along with the Barbados Cricket Buckle.
