PakistanOne of the most elegant batsmen of his time, Zaheer Abbas was hailed as the 'Asian Bradman'. He was the first Pakistan batsman to make 4000 and 5000 runs in Test cricket. More than three decades after his retirement, he remains in the top 10 of Pakistan's Test run-scorers. Abbas made 7634 runs in international cricket with 19 centuries. In first-class cricket, he was a prolific run-scorer and the first Asian batsman to get to 100 centuries.

Born in Sialkot, Zaheer Abbas played 78 Tests and 62 ODIs for Pakistan, making 7634 runs with 19 centuries, averaging 44.79 in Tests and 47.62 in ODIs.
Zaheer made a double hundred, 274, at Edgbaston against England in only his second Test. He was the first ODI batsman to make a hat-trick of ODI hundreds, achieving the feat against India in 1982/83. These ODIs were interespersed with Tests during the series, where he also enjoyed a prolific run: He had five successive international hundreds across formats, making him the first batsman to do so.
When 'the Asian Bradman' retired, Zaheer's tally of 2572 ODI runs was the fifth best in the format. His seven hundreds put him joint second on the list of century-makers.
