Anisa Mohammed will be hoping to mark her 100th T20I in a Windies shirt with a win over South Africa in their penultimate group stage match of the ICC Women’s World T20 2018 tomorrow.

Mohammed has been a regular in the Windies side since the inaugural edition in 2009 and has made over 200 appearances across all formats, playing an integral role in the Windies’ ICC Women’s World T20 2016 win.

Talking about her career and the impending 100th cap, Anisa Mohammed said:“I love representing the West Indies, it is something I look forward to and why I always wake up and work hard every day.

“We are not just a team that have come together from a bunch of islands, we are a family, and this works in our favour on the field.

“It is special to have a century of caps in T20 cricket, but it would be even better to win this tournament here at home in the West Indies, that would be the ultimate achievement.”

Windies go into the fixture having won their opening match against Asia Cup Champions Bangladesh and will be hoping to build on that performance against a South Africa side who also won their opening fixture against Sri Lanka.

The two sides know each other well after facing off in a drawn T20I series before the tournament. The highly anticipated fixture in Saint Lucia will begin at 20h00 local time with the winning team being in a great position to make the semi-finals in Antigua.

Speaking about the crucial match, Anisa Mohammed said:“We have played against them recently, we went back and looked at videos and where we fell down. We have worked hard on those things to put it right.”

“I was blown away by the support in Guyana and I can’t wait to see how many people will come out to support us here in Saint Lucia tomorrow.”

“We still have five games to go, as I am confident my team will go all the way and it is about building confidence every game.”

South Africa big hitting all-rounder, Chloe Tyron, will gain her 50th T20I cap against the Windies.

Chloe Tryon said:“It is exciting. It is great to get my 50th T20I cap tomorrow in this tournament. It is really exciting and is a dream come true for me.”

“We are playing the hosts, so it will be a good exciting match with a big crowd. We know we will need to play our best tomorrow to beat the Windies.”

“We have learnt a lot from the last game and it was great to have some time with the bat and ball. We played sensible cricket and a lot of positives to take out of yesterday’s game and take it into tomorrow to put in a great performance.”

The opening fixture of the doubleheader in Saint Lucia sees Bangladesh take on Sri Lanka in a must win match for both sides with the losers being out of the tournament. That match will begin at 16h00 local time at the Daren Sammy Ground.
