12 February - Cape Town - Bangladesh players Nigar Sultana and Marufa Akter post-match press conference
[Reporter:]
First of all, did you think that you had kind of gone wrong for you guys there because you really had it under control for long parts of the game?
[Nigar]
I guess first of all I think we were short of 15-20 runs obviously on this kind of track we probably needed to get 40 more runs because they have a good batting side and I guess we had a very good start but we couldn't maximise after the tail. So even though we were not actually capitalizing any boundary after six over so that and it cost us really.
[Reporter:]
And can I ask Marufa to just tell us a little bit about the under 19 World Cup and how that prepared her for playing in this tournament?
[Nigar translating]
She is just saying she was actually bold there with the confidence and she was really hoping that she can play for the Bangladesh that's why she was bowling there very well and yeah she's trying to the same thing in here.
[Reporter:]
And just the last one when she took those two wickets and two balls today could she describe how she felt and what it was like?
[Nigar translating] She felt amazing on that time because she took out about this weekend and the next ball got another so she's very excited and she's so happy.
[Reporter:]
Were you nervous bowling to Chamari Atapattu? The big player one of the best players?
[Marufa]
No.
[Reporter:]
And who's your idol? Who's your favourite player? Second question.
[Marufa]
Hardik Pandya
[Reporter:]
Hard luck on the result but Marufa can you talk to us about your early time and also two years ago you were working with your father in the field and now you're played two in two months your journey if you could talk us through that.
[Nigar translating]
She said she actually worked very hard during that days and she just admitted in the institution named Bangladesh Krira Shikha Pratihishtan and in that the madam actually the coach Fatima she used to coach her and she wasn't a good bowler so she's just teaching her the same when she like to thank Fatima and the other coach Mr. Pilu and she actually coming from a rural area but they actually giving her the opportunity to play for the national side.
[Reporter:]
One more for me - we also have read that you know early in your career when you were very young you had to fight with your parents and go to your uncle's place to train for cricket if she could talk about that.
[Nigar translating]
She said her big brother actually was supporting her so much. First of all their family was not very supportive because her father is a farmer so actually he wanted to make her like as a normal person and but after day by day when she started doing well that time her family actually started supporting her very much.
