46 – Lisa Sthalekar's score on WWT20 debut

Lisa Sthalekar

Sthalekar went on to score 769 runs in 54 Twenty20 Internationals, but this 36-ball knock remained her highest score in the format. She pierced the gaps and found the fence seven times to help prop up Australia's total.

It helped Australia recover from 51/6 to 99/7, and largely came the support of Alex Blackwell at the other end. The duo added 48 runs for the seventh wicket – it remains an ICC Women's World T20 record.

Unfortunately for Sthalekar and Australia, New Zealand weren't to be denied. They surged to a thumping nine-wicket win, with Aimee Watkins (73* off 51) and Suzie Bates (41* off 42) leading the charge.

It was a disappointing tournament for Australia, but Sthalekar would go on to be a part of two ICC Women's World T20 winning sides – Australia won the title in 2010 and 2012.
