BAN Pre Match PC- 6th March_Moment

Media Manager: Welcome to the pre match press conference with Bangladesh Skipper Nigar Sultana Jyoti. Please use the hand up function on Zoom to ask a question and let's have a maximum of two questions each for now.

Reporter: Jyoti -how did the team train this morning?

Jyoti: Yeah, actually good. I think we had a good practice session here. And there are like a few of us are they are bowling only and some of our batetrs are doing some drills here and there and trying to work on few things that we need to work on. And we are looking forward.

Reporter: - You put South Africa under a lot of pressure at stages yesterday, what will you do to kind of draw that out and do a bit more against New Zealand tomorrow?

Jyoti: I think we don't have any pressure right now because this is the stage we were trying to show ourselves and because there are a lot of things that we can get on from here. So still, we do have a lot of chance to do well here and show our potential to the whole world.

Reporter: And how did you find the conditions out there playing in New Zealand?

Jyoti: Yeah, I think still we had a lot of practices here, even though we played a couple of matches. So still, I think we adopt the wicket very well and with the condition as well. So, we're just trying to give our best and trying to deliver our best in the next match.

Reporter: And were you happy with your own batting?

Jyoti: Yeah, obviously, my job is to like bat through the innings, so I will do doing that in the next match, inshallah.

Reporter: Awesome. Thank you.

Bengali section:

Roney: Jyoti, After yesterday's match, you didn't really get enough time to regroup or to fix or correct your mistakes by practicing. There is another match tomorrow. I mean, what was the discussion in the meeting after yesterday's match, or what was the discussion you had among you?

Jyoti: Yes, time may be short but we have done a practice session today. The coaches have talked to us about the lackings [shortcomings] or mistakes that we have made in the last matches and we have tried to implement them on the net. We tried to correct them as much as possible and within that short period of time. Basically, that was it and we will sit down and talk again. We have another meeting before the match so that we can try to renew the team plan again against New Zealand.

Roney: Newzealand's higher power, if we talk about the batting, Sophie Devine or Suzie Bates, Amelia Kerr - they are stronger on the batting side especially. So What is your plan to handle them?

Jyoti: I would say that if you have seen our last match's bowling, now our pace bowlers are in very good shape. South Africa's batting strength was also very good. But our bowlers have presented a very good show. I think if we go according to our plan then I think we will be able to perform as well as yesterday's match as well as our bowlers.

[Thank you]

Roney: As I was saying about New Zealand, we never played with them. But they are an established power in World Cricket. How much did you follow them, how much did you know about them, or how much did you get ideas from analysts?

Jyoti: No, we don't have very bad memories against New Zealand. We bowled very well against them in the last T20 World Cup and bowled them out for 92 runs. This is indeed a positive sign from our side. But they will not take us lightly as I think. Because we have a very good bowling attack unit. And also if we can bat well and form a partnership, we couldn't get a good result in yesterday's match because of the partnership. If we can work on that a little bit and give a bit more attention to that, I think we can have a good result. And basically, yes, of course, we haven't played an ODI match against New Zealand but still, we have seen a lot of their ODI matches, and the analysts are giving us as much information about them as possible. So, based on that we will go ahead with our plan.

[Okay thank you, best wishes!]
