Advisory on Media Conferences

Women's World Cup trophy

Media wanting to attend in person need to produce proof of a negative COVID-19 test result conducted not more than 48 hours before any media conference. This is an event requirement and as per direction of ICC’s Biosafety Scientific Advisory Committee (BSAC) to ensure the safety of all participants. The ICC has arranged for these tests free of cost.

To attend the media conferences in person, please email your request to media@icc-cricket.com. We will confirm your attendance for the media conference(s) and organize for you to be registered with the COVID-19 testing suppliers if you wish to avail of the free facility. Please indicate clearly in your e-mail the interactions you wish to attend and whether you want us to arrange for your test. The list of testing centres is available here

You will receive an email with instructions on how to complete the sign-up process. Please note the process can take up to 12 hours. Once completed, you will receive a QR code which you will need to present at the testing centre prior to your PCR saliva test. This QR code will be valid for all future testing at the event, but you will still need to book a seat in future press conferences as there may be a cap on media attendance due to COVID protocols.

For those media attending post-match conferences for back-to-back matches, the ICC will consider the use of a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) at the venue instead of a second PCR. The facility of RAT tests will only be considered for those whose 48-hour time period of the PCR result may have elapsed that day or the previous day.

Please note that RAT tests are not a substitute for the PCR tests and the results of only those RAT tests conducted by the ICC at the venue will be valid. If you require a RAT test at the venue, please send in the request the previous day along with the request to attend.

If you are unable to attend a press conference but wish to send in questions, please e-mail them to media@icc-cricket.com and we will try to get them answered. Please write who the question(s) are meant for, with your name and organization written clearly at the end of the e-mail.

Video recordings of media conferences will be available on the Online Media Zone here for use by media shortly after conclusion of the interactions.
