Afghanistan loss a rare blip at home for Bangladesh
Bangladesh cleaned Afghanistan up for 126 in the third and final ODI in Chattogram and registered a seven-wicket victory to avoid a whitewash against Afghanistan.
This was just the third bilateral ODI series loss for the Bangladesh men's team at home since 2015. In this period at home, Bangladesh have been extremely dominant, beating even the likes of India, Pakistan, and South Africa.
In 15 ODI series at home prior to the one against Afghanistan, Bangladesh lost only two. Incidentally, both of them came against England.

Ending Bangladesh's remarkable run in ODIs at home is a high for Afghanistan too.
They haven't won a bilateral ODI series outside UAE, Qatar, Zimbabwe, Scotland and Ireland prior to this.
Bangladesh is just the second Test country after Zimbabwe where Afghanistan have now registered an ODI series victory. It's also their first series victory over Bangladesh in ODIs, having lost in 2022 and 2016 to them.
Their batters and bowlers also benefitted from the series win, climbing up the ICC Men's ODI Player Rankings.
Ibrahim Zadran (up 11 places to 16th) and Rahmanullah Gurbaz (up 37 spots to 45th), who made centuries in the series made significant strides, while Rashid Khan (up three spots to fourth) and left-armer Fazalhaq Farooqi (up 58 places to equal 33rd) also rose up the bowler rankings.
