Al-Amin Hossain and Arafat Sunny recalled to Bangladesh T20I squad for India series
Left-arm spinner Arafat Sunny and right-arm quick Al-Amin Hossain have each been recalled and are set to play their first internationals since 2016. Tamim Iqbal has also returned to the set up after taking a break from international cricket.
"Al-Amin is in good shape and one of the few fit pace bowlers currently," said chief selector Minhajul Abedin. "We want to make use of his experience of playing in the 2016 World T20 in India. For our spin options, we picked Sunny as a back-up, since Taijul will only play the Tests."
Missing out from the Tigers’ last engagement, a tri-series against Afghanistan and Zimbabwe, are batsman Sabbir Rahman, finger-spinners Taijul Islam and Najmul Hossain Shanto, and right-arm quick Rubel Hossain, while Soumya Sarkar has also been recalled. Abedin indicated that this was down to the preference of head coach Russell Domingo. "We didn't pick him, but we selected him because of the coach," he said.
The T20I series starts on 3 November and ends on 10 November. The sides will then play a Test, but, apart from Taijul, the players taking part in that haven’t been confirmed.
