Australian stars to appear in PNG event

Cricket PNG will be playing host to some of Australia?s most famous names early next month.

The players will be coming to Port Moresby for what is considered to be the most high profile event since the West Indies tour to the country in 1975.

The event called the ?Pacific MMI Motor Vehicles Insurance Limited Don?t Drink and Drive T20 Legends Bash? will take place from 3-6 December.

Big names such as Andrew Symonds, Michael Bevan, Greg Matthews, Greg Blewett, Jimmy Maher, Michael Kasprowicz and PNG coach Andy Bichel, along with many from PNG?s current squad, are expected to be part of the event which carries a strong message of the dangers of drunken driving.

The six-team event will have a legend playing in each team, with the final on 6 December being broadcasted on PNG television and radio. The stars will also engage themselves with PR visits, autograph sessions and appearances on breakfast radio.
