Austrian and Norwegian women’s coaches get ECB spur
Aspiring coaches from Austria and Norway were among those joining like-minded women in London as they interacted with one another as well as professionals – all with the aim of giving women’s cricket in their countries a boost.
The programme in April end at The Oval was part of a series of women's coaching conferences organised by the regional teams within the England and Wales Cricket Board.
Brilliant to see the growth of the women's game across @icc_europe. Thank you to the @ECB_cricket & the London Region for supporting and hosting @norskcricket & Austria. Amazing dedication from these coaches! @ELTdeLange @lydiagreenway https://t.co/Ef0Pbhn3o1

The conference was aimed at inspiring and engaging with future female coaches, who could be role models for the next generation of players. Many participants have not done an official course yet, but are teachers or players looking to get into coaching cricket.
They included those who had come from as far away as Austria and Norway, pointing to the interest in and growth of the women’s game in those countries.
So proud to host ECB’s first ever London Region dedicated Women’s Coaching conference today.

The 32 participants at the day-long event spent the morning on personal development and creative problem-solving skills. The afternoon involved skills based sessions, focusing on creating engaging cricket environments in clubs and schools.
Lydia Greenway, the former England international who has turned to coaching, interacted with the participants and spoke about her journey.
