Bhanuka Rajapaksa announces retirement from international cricket
In the letter submitted to SLC, 30-year-old Rajapaksa cited family obligations as his reason for early retirement.
“I have very carefully considered my position as a player, husband and am taking this decision looking forward to fatherhood and associated familial obligations,” he said in his letter of resignation.
Rajapaksa represented Sri Lanka in five ODIs and 18 T20Is, scoring a total of 409 across formats which included two fifties. He was part of Sri Lanka's ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021 squad, where he finished as the third-highest run-scorer for the Lions in the tournament with 155 runs in eight matches. ****
