Busy period of cricket beyond the Test world in 2010
The leading Associate and Affiliate sides will begin 2010 with a busy period of fixtures in all formats of the game.
Reigning holders Ireland will take on Afghanistan in a highly-awaited ICC Intercontinental Cup game at Dambulla between 23-26 January, before Afghanistan face Sri Lanka A in a 50-over match on 28 January.
Kenya hosts Scotland between 25-28 January in the ICC Intercontinental Cup, before Kenya, Scotland and Uganda then participate in a series of Twenty20 matches between 30 January-3 February.
Canada will warm up for the ICC World Twenty20 2010 with two 50-over matches against Sri Lanka A on 24 and 26 January, before participating in a four-team Twenty20 quadrangular tournament that also features Afghanistan, Ireland and Sri Lanka A.
After a series of unofficial warm-up matches on 31 January, the four-team tournament will be played between 1-4 February before the teams head to the UAE for the ICC World Twenty20 2010 Qualifier between 9-13 February.
Afghanistan then faces Canada in two ODI matches on 16 and 18 February in the UAE, before an ICC Intercontinental Cup match between the sides on 20-23 February, while on the same dates Kenya will play host to the Netherlands in two ODI games and an ICC Intercontinental Cup match.
For the Members taking part in the ICC Intercontinental Shield, there is also plenty to look forward to in the first two months of the year.
Although Bermuda has no cricket in this period, Namibia will continue to play in Cricket South Africa's domestic competition.
The UAE faces Uganda in the ICC Intercontinental Shield in Abu Dhabi on 20-23 January, before playing a 50-over match against each other on January 25 and two Twenty20 games on January 26 and 27.
