We take a look back at all the incredible performers who bagged the coveted ICC Women's Player of the Month Award.

Heather Knight played just the one game in January 2022 – the one-off Ashes Test in Australia – and scored a brilliant century that helped England draw the game.

In the first innings, Knight walked in to bat when England were in huge trouble after Australia posted 337/9d and kept losing wicket regularly. Australia, however, could not get past Knight, who led from the front with an unbeaten 168.

At 169/8, Knight stitched a 100-run stand with Sophie Ecclestone for the ninth wicket and pushed England to 297, just 40 runs behind Australia. The knock helped England secure a thrilling draw that went to the very last ball of the match.

Her 168* was the second-highest score by a captain in the history of Women’s Tests and also the highest Test score by any female English batter against Australia in Australia.

She became the first two-time winner of the ICC Women's Player of the Month having already won the award in September 2021.

Building up the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2022, New Zealand's Amelia Kerr was in sensational form.

In the five-match ODI series against India in February 2022, Kerr dominated both with the bat and ball as the highest run-getter overall and the joint-highest wicket-taker for New Zealand.

In the five ODIs, she scored 353 runs at an average of 117.66 and strike rate of 97.51, which included three fifties and a hundred. With the ball, she picked up 7 wickets at an economy of 5.78.

Kerr was the Player of the Match in two of the five ODIs with a standout performance in the second match of the series where she returned figures of 1/43 with the ball before anchoring a tense 271-run chase with a sublime unbeaten 119.

Rachael Haynes had a month to remember as she finished as the second-highest run-getter in the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2022. Haynes’ contribution at the top of the order was one of the biggest positives for Australia throughout the tournament. 429 of her 497 runs in the World Cup came in the month of March as Australia marched into the knockout stages unbeaten.

Her three half-centuries and a brilliant century in their opening match of the tournament against England, helped Australia get solid opening starts throughout. She added another half-century in the final, ultimately helping Australia lift the trophy for the seventh time.

Alyssa Healy played only just one match in April, but it proved to be a historic one for Australia. In the all-important 2022 ICC Women's World Cup Final against England, Healy proved to be the difference between the two sides with a sublime 170 off 138 deliveries.

She set a new record for the highest score ever recorded at a World Cup Final, propelling Australia to a mammoth 356/5. England fell short of the target as Australia went on to be crowned ODI World Champions for a record seventh time.

This was Healy's second time winning the Player of the Month Award after being crowned winner back in April 2021.

Tuba Hassan couldn't have asked for a better start to her international career. In her very first month as a capped player, she was nominated and won the ICC Women's Player of the Month, becoming the first Pakistani female player to do so.

In her maiden international game, Hassan recorded brilliant figures of 3/8, which fetched her the Player of the Match award on debut in the first T20I against Sri Lanka. In the next two games, she picked up a wicket each but was miserly in her economy. She finished the series with five wickets at an average of 8.8 and an economy rate of just 3.66 and was named the Player of the Series in Pakistan's 3-0 clean sweep.

South Africa’s Kapp was selected the ICC Women’s Player of the Month, thanks to her solid and fierce resistance in the face of a hostile England bowling attack in the Test match at Taunton which secured her side a valuable draw.

In what was her first Test match appearance since 2014, Kapp came in with her side’s backs against the wall at 45 for four and produced a batting masterclass. She demonstrated her full repertoire of classy stroke-play on the way to scoring a national record of 150.

Emma Lamb was voted the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for July following her thrilling start to life opening the batting in England’s victorious ODI series victory over South Africa. Lamb consistently laid the foundations for her side to claim victory in each of the three matches, with her most notable contribution coming in the first match in Northampton.

Her outstanding 102 in which she displayed a wide array of classy strokeplay set her on course for a stellar month, and she followed up this milestone by posting two further half-centuries to strengthen her credentials as a supremely talented top-order batter, with a very bright future ahead.

McGrath amassed 114 runs at an average of 57 during the month, together with five wickets at 13.40, emphasising the crucial role she played in securing yet another success for her country as Australia won Commonwealth Games Gold.

Her star performance came in the victory over Pakistan, where McGrath scored an unbeaten 78, before her three wickets and a run out helped maintain her side’s unbeaten path to glory.

The India skipper was at her brilliant best during the ODI series against England, scoring 221 runs across the three matches, maintaining a strike rate of 103.47 and only being dismissed once.

She displayed control and poise in the first match of the series at Hove, and her 74 not out helped her side chase down England’s total of 228 at a canter to win by seven wickets.

But without doubt the highlight of her month came in the second showdown when she hit an unbeaten 143* off 111 balls to help India to a famous victory.

Pakistan’s all-rounder scored 145 valuable runs at an average of 72.50 during the month and took eight key wickets during Pakistan’s run to the semi-finals of the Women’s Asia Cup in Bangladesh.

Dar’s statement performance came in the landmark win over India as she smashed 56* to lift her side to a competitive score, before taking two crucial wickets, dismissing Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues, as Pakistan successfully defended their total.

Pakistan’s opening batter Ameen started the month with her highest score in ODIs, a remarkable 176 not out, as the hosts claimed a convincing 128-run victory in the first ODI against Ireland.

The Irish bowlers were left equally powerless to stop Ameen in the second ODI, as she posted another unbeaten score of 91 from 93 balls, this time to chase down the target in a nine-wicket victory.

Despite finally losing her wicket in the third ODI, Ameen walked away with the Player of the Series award to cap off a memorable series.

The Aussie all-rounder edged Charlie Dean and Suzie Bates for the accolade on the back of her superb individual series against India.

The 25-year-old picked up the equal most wickets during the five-match series against India with seven scalps, while also amassing 115 runs at an average greater than 50. Gardner was named Player of the Series for her exploits.

It capped off a tremendous 12 months for Gardner, as the talented all-rounder played a starring role in helping Australia to victory at the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup in New Zealand and then the gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

Gardner also rose the heights of the Women's All-rounder rankings to overtake West Indies skipper Hayley Matthews and become the No.1 ranked player in the world in that category towards the end of the year.
