Changing of the guard: Australia's newest star claims No.1 batter ranking

McGrath-rankings

McGrath claims the honour just 16 games into her T20I career – the same amount of matches it took India great Mithali Raj to reach the feat in 2011 – with the 27-year-old joining compatriots Karen Rolton, Meg Lanning and Beth Mooney as the only female Australia players to have previously held the top batter ranking in the shortest format of the game.

It caps off a superb run of form for the talented McGrath, who only made her T20I debut for Australia in October last year and has since amassed a whopping 485 runs at an imposing average of 121.25 and an eye-catching strike rate of 149.69.

In that time McGrath has smashed an impressive four half-centuries for her country, with her most recent effort an unbeaten 70* during Australia's thrilling Super Over loss to India in Mumbai on Sunday.

McGrath jumps three places on the latest set of T20I rankings for batters, with the aggressive right-hander earning top billing on the back of her 110 runs from two unbeaten innings during the ongoing series against India.

The only bad news for McGrath is she takes the top ranking from experienced teammate Mooney, with the left-hander relinquishing the No.1 spot she has held since August this year and dropping to second place on the rankings and one spot ahead of India southpaw Smriti Mandhana.

England duo Danielle Wyatt (up three places to 13th) and Sophia Dunkley (up seven spots to 31st) rise the T20I batter rankings after good performances during the opening T20I clash against the West Indies, while New Zealand star Amelia Kerr jumps eight places to 19th overall and India's Richa Ghosh improves 20 places to 44th.

New Zealand pair Fran Jonas (up six places to 14th) and Jess Kerr (up 11 spots to 23rd) are the big movers on the latest T20I bowler rankings, while there is more joy for Australia on the updated ODI rankings.

Veteran Ellyse Perry claims the top ranking on the latest list of rankings for ODI all-rounders, with West Indies skipper Hayley Matthews dropping from first to second following their series with England.

Matthews had been at the top of the all-rounder rankings since September this year, while Perry first reached the spot back way back in February of 2017.

The start of the ongoing ODI series between New Zealand and Bangladesh sees a host of stars from both teams make eye-catching moves up the latest list for batters, with veteran opener Suzie Bates the most notable improver.

Bates jumps five places to 17th overall after her unbeaten 93 in the first game in Wellington, while teammate Maddy Green (up four spots to equal 28th) and Bangladesh skipper Nigar Sultana (up 16 places to 46th) are also on the rise.
