Chris Morris at the 2019 Cricket World Cup

The 34-year-old declared that he'd be calling time after a nine-year international career, which saw him represent South Africa in 69 international games.

Morris made his T20I debut in late 2012 against New Zealand, quickly followed by his ODI debut in June 2013 in the ICC Champions Trophy against Pakistan.

Morris took 48 wickets in his 42 ODI matches at an average of 36.58, while his batting strike-rate of 100.43 proving useful for his team on several occasions. He was also South Africa's highest wicket-taker at the 2019 ODI World Cup in England, finishing with 13 wickets at the tournament.

Morris made his Test debut against England in Cape Town in January 2016. While he only played four Test matches for South Africa, his performance in the shorter formats of the game was the real highlight of his career.

Along with his successful international career, Morris’ hard-hitting ability late in the innings and his key death bowling made him a popular name across the domestic T20 circuit.

He played a total of 234 T20s, including 23 T20Is, taking 290 wickets at an average of 22.21, with an incredible batting strike rate of 150.04.

The all-rounder’s next chapter is in coaching, taking up a role with Titans in South African domestic cricket.
