CSA plans the way forward

Cricket South Africa (CSA) has put the process in place to learn the lessons from the disappointing Cricket World Cup exit and plan the way forward.

"We are obviously very disappointed at the manner of the team's exit from the World Cup and we understand the frustrations of the country," commented CSA Acting President AK Khan.

"But at the same time this is our team and we must stand by them. It was heartening to see the reception they received from the fans when they arrived home on Saturday evening.

"We will now await the report of the team manager. It is important that we move forward but that at the same time we take on board the lessons that need to be learned.

"The process is also under way to appoint the new national coach as well as the captain of the ODI squad.

"Time is on our side. The Proteas will not be in action again until October when they play Australia in two Castle Tests and three ODIs," he concluded.
