Ellyse Perry slams second WBBL ton
Perry has been in an exceptional form in the tournament. So far, she has registered scores of 58, 102*, 74*, 10, 72* and 103* in six matches, at a brilliant average of 209.50. With a total of 419, the all-rounder is leading this year's run-getters' chart.
With two balls remaining, Ellyse Perry was sitting pretty on 93 not out.

Batting first, Sydney lost opener Alyssa Healy early, but Perry led from the front, smashed a gritty century and lifted her side to a match-winning total of 166/3. Her 64-ball knock featured 10 fours and five sixes.
The first boundary came off a flick off the second ball she faced, and they only kept coming. A sweep brought up her fifty off 45 balls, before she accelerated some more. Starting the final over on 84, she took 19 off it.
Ashleigh Gardner stood with Perry and allowed her to do the job. Gardner made a measured 38-ball 36 while Erin Burns scored 16 before being run out by Brisbane Heat's Grace Harris.
Most runs in Women's Big Bash League:
Name | Matches | Runs | Highest Score | Average |
Ellyse Perry | 51 | 1785 | 103* | 48.24 |
Elyse Villani | 53 | 1536 | 84* | 33.39 |
Beth Mooney | 49 | 1522 | 86* | 41.13 |
Alyssa Healy | 50 | 1312 | 106 | 26.77 |
Alex Blackwell | 50 | 1243 | 81* | 36.55 |
Chasing 167, Brisbane lost their star batter, Harris, early. However, the others kept the scoreboard ticking. They gave a good fight but at the end, it was Perry's knock that made all the difference for Sydney as they cruised to an 11-run win – their fifth victory from six matches.
Perry is also the leading run-scorer ever in the tournament. She has scored 1785 runs at an average of 48.24, with both her centuries and three of her 10 fifties coming this year.
Only Harris has hit two centuries in WBBL, achieving the feat earlier this week with a brilliant 101* — the fastest tournament century off just 42 balls.
