England quick sanctioned for breaching ICC Code of Conduct

England pacer Reece Topley has been sanctioned for an incident during his side's victory over the West Indies in he first T20I in Barbados.

The incident took place while England were fielding, with Topley leaving the field after sustaining an injury and found to have taken hold of a chair and aggressively hitting it against the handrail.

Topley was found to have breached Article 2.2 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to 'abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings during an International Match' and was duly fined 15 percent of his match fee.

One demerit point was also added to Topley's disciplinary record, for which it was the first offence in a 24-month period.

England went on to win the match against the West Indies and currently lead the five-game series 2-0.

England's Reece Topley took three wickets in the first Powerplay, and then dismissed Mushfiqur Rahim in the 31st over to help set up a big win for his side in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023
