England U19 captain Harry Brook dropped for disciplinary reasons
Harry Brook, England U19 captain, has been dropped for the final game of their ICC Under 19 Cricket World Cup campaign. The England camp have confirmed that his omission was for a disciplinary matter, but are yet to disclose the reason.
Vice-captain Will Jacks will lead the team for England’s seventh-place playoff against New Zealand in Queenstown in his absence. Brook had enjoyed an excellent tournament with the bat, scoring 239 runs including two half-centuries and a century, averaging 119.5, although he made a duck in England’s Super League quarter-final against Australia.
His replacement Will Jacks has captained England twice before in Under 19 ODIs, most recently December against South Africa. He has also enjoyed a good tournament personally, averaging 46.5 with the bat, scoring one century and one half-century, as well as taking 3/21 against Australia in England’s Super League quarter-final defeat.
