Another injury blow for England as wicketkeeper leaves South Africa tour

Bess Heath has been withdrawn from England Women’s T20I squad for the bilateral series against South Africa.

In an update during the first T20I, wicketkeeper-batter Bess Heath has been withdrawn from the squad after a thumb injury in training. She will return to the UK for rehabilitation.

Earlier, Alice Capsey , the 20-year-old, was called up as a precautionary measure following minor injury concerns within the squad.

Capsey, who has been showcasing her talent in the Women’s Big Bash League with the Melbourne Renegades, will join the team in South Africa immeadiately.

Capsey has had quite an outing in the eight games in the WBBL so far, managing 72 runs and 13 wickets with a five-for to her name, and is placed third on the top wicket-takers this season.

England will play two more T20Is and three ODIs on this tour before playing a historic four-day Test match on the tour. England's international in South Africa will take place from November 24 to December 18.
