'Even though we have lost, we take a lot of positives' – Namibia skipper Yasmeen Khan

"We are going to go back and work on the shortcomings. We are going to play a lot of cricket," Yasmeen said after the match on Sunday, 11 May. "Next time I think there are no two ways about it, we are going to win the next qualifier."

Namibia reached the final after topping the Group B table following three successive wins against Kenya, Uganda and Sierra Leone.

In the final clash against Group A's table-toppers and hosts Zimbabwe, Namibia's decision to field first worked well. Their bowlers restricted the home team to 114/5. However, Zimbabwe's bowlers then sealed the deal for their side, reducing Namibia to 64/9 to set up a 50-run win and subsequently sealing their spot in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier 2019 and ICC Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2020.

Yasmeen reflected on her side's journey to the final, saying: "We are very happy. I spoke to the girls and I told them we take a lot of positives out of this tournament. Reaching the final, it's big for us because some of these players have never ever played in such a big tournament and we are very happy."
