Flintoff encouraged by scan results
All-rounder Andrew Flintoff received a boost on Tuesday when a scan on his troublesome left side showed no major damage.
The 31-year-old Flintoff was forced to pull out of England's tour opener due to discomfort in his side, and he flew to Jamaica on Monday with team doctor Nick Stone to undergo an MRI scan.
"The scan showed no major damage and we will continue to assess Andrew on a daily basis," the team said. "We haven't made a decision yet as to whether he is available for the next three-day game."
Flintoff was at Warner Park on Tuesday but did not participate in any of the team's training drills.
The visitors take on West Indies "A" from Thursday in the final warm-up before the first Test starts Feb. 4 in Kingston, Jamaica.
