From the great pyramids to the bottom of the ocean - The ICC Trophy Tour’s spectacular journey
Given the disruption caused to the world by the pandemic, a traditional globe-trotting Trophy Tour was not feasible in 2021. So instead, every fan on the planet had the chance to get involved in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 Trophy Tour, driven by Nissan.
The virtual tour meant that the trophy could be accessed using a 3D augmented reality filter, with fans encouraged to get creative and take the trophy wherever they liked to.
And the world’s cricket fans delivered in spades, taking the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Trophy to a host of amazing spots, from popular landmarks and famous cricket grounds to their own backyards.

The World Cup Trophy went from the Lincoln Memorial to Scotland’s Forth Bridge, down through Europe, taking a trip on the London Underground along its way, before heading south to Egypt’s famous Pyramids.
The Tour also took it all over India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, with visits to Australia and New Zealand too, with the virtual World Cup Trophy even popping up on the beaches of Papua New Guinea.
Teams and cricket stars also got involved in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 Trophy Tour, driven by Nissan, with some using the augmented reality silverware as a chance to see what it would be like to lift the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Trophy for real.
The Trophy Tour was launched by 2016 World Cup hero Carlos Brathwaite back in August, with the West Indies star reciting a poem written with the intention of capturing the essence and excitement of T20 international cricket. The poem, written by Birmingham Poet Laureate, Casey Bailey, got the Trophy Tour off to a terrific start and is still very much relevant now the virtual tour has drawn to a close.
A lucky few of those who entered will also now stand to change of winning prizes which include:
1st prize - Signed & framed jersey from ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 winning team + exclusive ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Trophy Tour, Driven by Nissan artwork signed by stars of the 2021 tournament

The ICC also ran a weekly show throughout the duration of the Trophy Tour. Around the Wicketwas hosted by Indian comedian and presenter Danish Sait, and featured two international cricket stars from across the globe every single week from the teams competing in this year's tournament. The show celebrated everything we love about T20 cricket, and you can watch the eighth and final episode****here.
One of the other new activations for the tour this year was a chance for the fans to immortalise their name in a one-of-a-kind artwork. With this form now closed, some 25,000 people signed up to be a part of history with the artwork to be revealed at the close of the tournament.
