Google honours Dilip Sardesai with doodle
Sardesai, who played 30 Tests for India between 1961 and 1972, is known as Indian cricket’s Renaissance Man after his performance in the tour of the Caribbean in 1971.
At a time when his cricket career wasn’t going too well, Sardesai, known for his proficiency against spin, showed plenty of mettle against the Windies and their formidable bowling attack, scoring 642 runs including a double century and two centuries, to help the visitors secure a famous, and at the time rare, overseas series win.
On Wednesday, Google marked Sardesai's birth anniversary with a trademark doodle.
Today, we're celebrating one of India's best batsmen against spin bowling with a #GoogleDoodle. Here's to Dilip Sardesai - Indian cricket's Renaissance Man, on his birth anniversary.https://t.co/iP6apFQq5x pic.twitter.com/K8xdANnuN6
