Hardik Pandya claims five-for on return from injury
Pandya ended the first day of the first-class match with 3/74, and followed it up with two more wickets on the second morning.
Pandya was handed the new ball, and he dismissed the Mumbai openers – Aditya Tare (15) and Vilas Auti (12) – in quick succession on the first day. He came back in the final session to claim his third scalp, seeing off Shivam Dube (37) in the 85th over.
On the second morning, he sent back Akash Parkar and Royston Dias to complete his third five-for in first-class cricket. He ended with figures of 5/81.
In September, the 25-year-old had to be carried off the pitch after collapsing holding his back during the Asia Cup fixture against Pakistan.
While the wickets against Mumbai will help bolster his confidence, it was the 18.5 overs he bowled that he'll be happier about.
India have missed their seam-bowling all-rounder in Australia, and went with four specialist pacemen and a part-time spinner – G Hanuma Vihari – on a green track for the second Test in Perth.
