Healy surges past high-profile hitters in ICC Rankings
Australia star Alyssa Healy has made a notable climb in the latest Women's ODI Batting Rankings release, climbing back into the top five.
Alyssa Healy is making a spirited charge back towards the top of the ICC Women's ODI Rankings. Australia's skipper is the big mover in the latest release, climbing to fifth off some strong recent top-order contributions as Australia faces off against England in the Women's Ashes Down Under.
The rankings rise comes following the veteran keeper-batter smashing 70 in the series opener at North Sydney Oval, helping her side successfully chase England's 204 and take an early Ashes lead.
Healy (678 rating points) leapfrogged team mates Ellyse Perry (666) and Beth Mooney (653) along with South Africa's Marizanne Kapp (657) and the West Indies' Hayley Matthews (652), who had finished the 2024 calendar year with a solid ratings boost.
The 34-year-old Aussie moved up four spots, having previously banked a career-high 785 ratings points in 2022.
Women's ODI Batter Rankings
South African star Laura Wolvaardt (773) retains top spot, currently enjoying her career-high rating points tally. The 25-year-old from Cape Town ended 2024 with a flurry of scores against India and then England, but hasn't had an opportunity in One-Day cricket since then.
Wolvaardt's significant run over the last year, has helped secure her nominations for three 2024 ICC Awards - Women’s Player of the Year, ODI Player of the Year, and T20I Player of the Year.
Sri Lanka superstar Chamari Athapaththu (733) and India's Smriti Mandhana (723) stay on the podium in second and third respectively. Athapaththu has also been nominated for the same three awards Wolvaardt is in the mix for, after yet another classy season.
Ireland's Gaby Lewis (570) moved up four spots to 16th in the Batting Rankings, having recently scored a 92 against India in Rajkot.
Highlighting some of the other major Rankings climbs, India's Jemimah Rodrigues (563) moved up three spots to 19th, England's Heather Knight (529) rose five spots to 23rd and her team mate Danni Wyatt-Hodge (521) joins Kiwi Brooke Halliday at equal-26th.
Ireland's Leah Paul (490) has stormed up 15 places to 32nd, having enjoyed a strong series in India to start 2025.
Women's ODI All-Rounder Rankings
The top three ranked ODI bowlers are all involved in the Ashes series currently, with England's Sophie Ecclestone (779 ratings points) clinging onto top spot. The 25-year-old has six wickets across the first two One-Day matches in Australia as it stands.
Aussie pair Ashleigh Gardner (722) and Megan Schutt (690) swapped places courtesy of a brilliant outing for the latter (3/19) in the first game against England.
Three Australians are inside the top 10, with Kim Garth (592) moving up three spots to 10th.
England's Lauren Bell (533) jumped five spots to 17th, while Aussie young gun Darcie Brown (455) climbed eight places to move up to 27th in the Rankings after the first ODI.
