England hosted India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh for the tournament. India defeated Pakistan in one semi-final, while England defeated Afghanistan in the other to set up a final clash on Tuesday, 13 August. The title was won by India as they beat England by 36 runs, bundling them out for 144 in the second innings.

Disability cricket is still an evolving form of the game and the inaugural world tournament was a step in the right direction. "What’s impressed me most is the quality of cricket that has been played. The standard of cricket has improved so much. That’s been really, really pleasing," Ian Martin, the head of Disability Cricket for ECB, told ICC.

"A big target for us over the next four years is increasing the number of youngsters with disabilities choosing cricket as their sport and enabling every disabled youngster to have the opportunity to play the game. Not all of them are going to take it up, but they should all have the opportunity to play and choose."
