ICC announces umpire appointments for U/19 Cricket World Cup final

The International Cricket Council has announced the umpire appointments for the final of the ICC U/19 Cricket World Cup in Malaysia.

On Sunday, the U/19 CWC final will be played between India and South Africa at Kinrara Oval, Kuala Lumpur. The match will be overseen by Chris Broad of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees.

The on-field umpires for the final will be Peter Hartley and Gary Baxter of the Emirates International Panel of ICC Umpires while Tyron Wijiwardena will be the third umpire and Zameer Haider will be fourth. Both Wijiwardena and Haider are also on the Emirates International Panel.

Please note that Steve Davis of the Emirates International Panel was not considered for the finals stage of the U/19 CWC due to his upcoming Test appointment in the New Zealand v England series. Also, Marais Erasmus of the same panel was not considered for the final as he is from South Africa, one of the teams playing.

The Super League final appointments are as follows:

2 Mar – India v South Africa (Super League final), Kinrara Oval – Chris Broad (match referee), Peter Hartley and Gary Baxter, Tyron Wijiwardena (third), Zameer Haider (fourth).
