ICC U19 Men's CWC Ireland captain quotes
Ireland’s Tim Tector
“Nothing much worked no. They came at us pretty hard and we didn’t bowl particularly well up-front I thought, but dragged it back exceptionally well.
“They played exceptionally well so the wicket looked like it was pretty flat to bat on, but it was pretty quick – you get value for your shots.
“I wouldn’t say we were extremely confident but we thought if we batted the way we can, we would get close enough to it.
“We were probably a bit slow early on in the chase. Then when you lose a few wickets early on, it’s never ideal.
“I thought we could have been more pro-active in the middle period after those early wickets. So there are a lot of learnings to take from today. Hopefully we can bring that into our game on Friday.
“There is a lot to learn from playing a high-quality side like India. They go about their business very well.
“They have a strict game-plan that they look to stick to. They hit their singles very hard and wait for the loose ball. So there is a lot to take from today.
“We now have a straight shoot-out for the Super 8s pretty much.
“We’ll look to give it our best shot and see what happens.”
