The Year That Was

A consistent performer with bat and ball across the year, Abel helped Kenya to a tournament victory at the Women's T20 World Cup Africa Regional Division Two Qualifier, before a solid campaign in the Division One tournament in Uganda.

Player of the Tournament in the Division Two competition in Botswana, Abel made 238 runs in five innings, before 12 wickets at an astonishing average of 2.84. Come the Division One tournament, Abel claimed six wickets at an average of 6.83, before making multiple contributions with the bat.

Abel was also the top run-scorer at the annual Kwibuka Tournament in Rwanda, making 206 runs across nine innings, and taking 11 wickets at an economy of just 4.40. Her efforts were rewarded with Player of the Tournament honours.

Memorable Performance

Abel was a clear Player of the Match winner in a Women's T20 World Cup Africa Regional Division Two Qualifier outing against Botswana, making 71 (46) with 12 boundaries before taking 4/7 from four overs.

Abel made the most of captain Esther Wachira winning the toss and electing to bat, putting on 120 for the first wicket with Daist Njoroge (53*).

After Kenya piled on 164/1 in the 20 overs, Abel tied a bow on proceedings as the fifth bowler, also bowling 19 dot balls in her spell.
