ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 Qualification Pathway
The road to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Bangladesh 2024 has begun. Ten teams will compete in a Global Qualifier in the first quarter of 2024 for a place in women’s cricket’s biggest T20 event, which will take place in September and October.
In the Global Qualifier, 10 teams will compete for two spots in the T20 World Cup - eight teams from the five Regions as well as Ireland and Sri Lanka, who played in the last ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa. By failing to be in the top six placed teams in that edition, Ireland and Sri Lanka failed to gain automatic qualification for 2024 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
The top six teams from the T20 World Cup in South Africa - Australia, South Africa, England, India, New Zealand, and the West Indies – earned direct qualification while Bangladesh qualified as hosts and Pakistan by virtue of their position in the MRF Tyres ICC Women’s T20I Team Rankings.
