In-form Amy Jones eyes three-figure mark
Amy Jones has been in excellent form on the Sri Lanka tour, scoring fifties in each of the three matches so far, including the warm-up fixture. In the first ODI she struck 79 as England secured a 154-run victory, and then compiled a 39-ball 54 in the next to help chase down 188.
Her only regret is that she hasn't been able to convert those fifties into bigger contributions, but is pleased about the victories nevertheless.

"I feel in good form with the bat at the moment and I'm enjoying the fast outfields, but any time you pass 50 you do want to go on and make three figures," she said after the game. "Hopefully if I keep doing what I'm doing and working hard the rewards will come."
England's tour of the sub-continent started on the wrong foot with them losing two ODIs against India, but since then they've won every single game including one ODI and three T20Is against India. Now they're targetting a clean-sweep of Sri Lanka to keep up the winning run. The lure of two more points on the ICC Women's Championship is motivation enough.
"It's nice to have another two points in the bag in the ICC Women's Championship and it's important to win the series, as well. We've got one more ODI in Colombo and we want to be at our best for that game too."

While Jones has enjoyed good form with the bat, England's bowlers have excelled too. In the first game, Sri Lanka were restricted to 159/8 in 40 overs and they didn't do much better in the second game either. Jones heaped praise on the bowlers, giving Laura Marsh, who dismissed both Sri Lankan openers, a special mention.
"It wasn't easy out in the field and I think all the bowlers did really well to stick to their plans and keep the pressure on in heat like that. Laura Marsh got us going but every bowler kept it tight and it's not an easy wicket to bowl on. It was nice to see Alex [Hartley] pick up some wickets, and for our bowlers to deliver without Katherine [Brunt, who was rested]."
