India's road to the U19 Women's World Cup 2025 Final

With six wins from as many matches at the ICC Women’s U19 T20 World Cup 2025, we take a look at the progression India have made to qualify for the tournament decider.

India defeated West Indies by nine wickets

It didn't take too long for India to find their best form at the event, with the side cruising past the West Indies with ease on the back of a combined seven wickets from Parunika Sisodia (3/7), Aayushi Shukla (2/6) and Joshitha VJ (2/5).

It was a dominant display from India's bowlers that set-up the victory, with Sanika Chalke (18 not out) and G Kamalini (16 not out) overcoming the early loss of Trisha Gongadi to help the team chase down the target inside five overs.

India defeated Malaysia by 10 wickets

India showed their dominant display against the West Indies wasn't just a one off as they continued their dominant run with an even more impressive triumph against tournament hosts Malaysia.

Left-armer and the tournament's leading wicket-taker Vaishnavi Sharma set the tone with a five-wicket haul, before Trisha Gongadi (27 not out) led the charge with the bat to help India make it two from two at the event.

India defeated Sri Lanka by 60 runs

A stiffer test was expected against Asian rival Sri Lanka at Bayuemas Oval and things didn't look too positive at the innings break as India were restricted to just 118/9 after they lost the toss and were sent in to bat first.

But Sri Lanka were never able to recover from a pair of early breakthroughs provided by Shabnam Shakil (2/9) and Joshitha VJ (2/17), as Parunika Sisodia (2/7) and Vaishnavi Sharma (1/3) put the clamps on during the middle overs to ensure it was another comprehensive victory for Niki Prasad's side.

Trisha Gongadi once again led the team with the bat and was adjudged Player of the Match for her crucial innings of 49 at the top of the order.

India defeated Bangladesh by eight wickets

The start of the Super Six phase of the tournament did little to stop India's momentum, with the side producing yet another outstanding effort with the ball on their way to an easy victory over Bangladesh.

Vaishnavi Sharma (3/15) was the pick of the bowlers with yet another tidy spell, as Bangladesh's modest total of 64/8 was run down in less than eight overs courtesy of a rampant innings of 40 from Trisha Gongadi.

India defeated Scotland by 150 runs

It was the Trisha Gongadi show against Scotland as the right-hander created history by becoming the first player to hit a century across the tournament's brief existence.

Trisha was in a damaging mood as she smashed four sixes and 13 fours on her way to an unbeaten 110 from just 59 deliveries that ensured India posted a massive total of 208/1.

That proved way too much for the young Scotland side, with Aayushi Shukla's four-wicket haul helping India to another massive victory.

India defeated England by nine wickets

The stakes were higher in the knockout semi-final, but the result was exactly the same as India eased past the previously unbeaten England in style.

Vaishnavi Sharma (3/23) and Parunika Sisodia (3/21) bowled superbly to restrict England to just 113/8 from their 20 overs and that was never going to be enough against an in-form India side playing with plenty of confidence.

Trisha Gongadi managed a quickfire 35 at the top of the order, with G Kamalini (56 not out) and Sanika Chalke (11 not out) sending India through to the title decider with five overs remaining in the chase.
