Kim Garth's all-round heroics can't prevent defeat
Only two West Indies batters made more than 20 runs, and none more than 35, but with several getting starts, they posted 157/6 in their 20 overs in Dublin on Tuesday, 28 May. The bowlers then struck at regular intervals to keep Ireland to 112/6.
After captain Stafanie Taylor chose to bat, Hayley Matthews and Britney Cooper raced away to 32 in just 3.3 overs. Cooper had struck three fours in reaching 20 off just 11 before she became Garth's first victim.

Garth then returned in the 16th over to have a well-set Stacy-Ann King and Shemaine Campbelle out. And although Natasha McLean and Kycia Knight kept the boundaries coming, it checked the West Indies scoring at the death.
Ann-King then did her bit with her medium-pace. She sent back Gaby Lewis early and broke a promising second-wicket stand between Mary Waldron and Garth.
A middle-order collapse saw Ireland slip from 60/2 to 67/6 before Garth dominated the unbroken seventh-wicket partnership. She couldn't get her side over the line, but finished on 51* off 48 balls, with four fours and a six.
The final game of the series will be played on Wednesday.
