Kuwait cricket umpires get refresher course
As a preparation for new domestic cricket season Kuwait Cricket organised one day Refresher Course for the umpires at the auditorium of Kuwait Olympic Committee. The course was attended by 44 umpires and scorers with varied background.
Among the participants were Level 2 qualified and extensively experienced umpires, mid-level umpires, novices, new entrants and scorers. Another highlight of the course was its multi-national participation. A young and very zealous Kuwaiti cricketer , Tareq Samir Beidas, two Egyptians, a Jordanian showed same level of enthusiasm as umpires from traditional cricketing nations of India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Four girls were also among the beneficiaries of the course.
Senior umpire and ACC Accredited Umpire Educator Riaz Chaudhry conducted the course. MCC Laws of Cricket and ICC Playing Conditions were discussed keeping in view the practical usage of such Cricket regulations. The course participants appreciated Kuwait Cricket for organizing this course and expressed optimism this will help enhance their knowledge and skill. Kuwait Cricket Director General Asad Baig supervised all the facilitations.
