Nepal and Pakistan conclude tournament with wins ahead of Super Six Stage
Nepal and Pakistan registered their only win of the tournament as teams gear up for Super Six action
Before the ICC Women's U19 World Cup launches into the Super Sixes phase, the teams that finished fourth in their group and were eliminated teams played one final time. It was chance for two teams to go home with a vicotry and a chance to not just finish on a high, but gain important experience.
In Johor, Pakistan faced off against Samoa. After being sent in to bat, Pakistan posted an imposing total of 137 runs, giving Samoa a steep target to chase. Pakistan’s bowlers then dominated the game, taking regular wickets and restricting Samoa’s scoring. Samoa ultimately fell short, as Pakistan secured a convincing 52-run victory to claim their first win of the tournament.
Later in the day, hosts Malaysia took on Nepal. Malaysia struggled to cope with Nepal's disciplined and relentless bowling attack. The Malaysian batters were unable to settle, and the team was bowled out for just 45 runs. Nepal made quick work of the chase, reaching the target in just 11 overs and winning by 7 wickets to finish their tournament on a high note.

Pakistan beat Samoa by 52 runs
PAKISTAN v SAMOA, MATCH CENTRE
Pakistan have finished their World Cup campaign with a win, beating Samoa by 52 runs.
Both sides missed out on the Super Sixes after not recording group stage victories, so this was a great opportunity to taste success. And ultimately, Pakistan enjoyed that privelage after productive efforts with both bat and ball.
Samoa opted to field after claiming the toss, but Pakistan had the better of the early exchanges, with opener Maham Anees (28 off 42) laying the foundations. Anees found support in middle order hitter Fatima Khan (25 off 14), who helped set up a total of 136-8 from their 20 overs.
Samoa's Norah Jade Salima was the pick of the bowlers with 20-3 from her four overs.
The tournament first-timers' start with the bat had them daring to dream of a maiden U19's World Cup win, with Verra Farane hitting three boundaries on her way to 19 off 18.
But while falling short in the end, Samoa finished on a high, compiling their best batting total of the tournament, all out for 84 - more than double their next best effort with the bat.
Pakistan's Haniah Ahmer took 17-4 from her four overs to claim Player of the Match honours.
Samoa brought infectious energy to Malaysia, playing spirited cricket and undoubtedly inspiring more young compatriots to dream of represting the proud nation at future World Cups.

Nepal beat Malaysia by 7 wickets
MALAYSIA v NEPAL, MATCH CENTRE
Both teams were eager to end their World Cup campaigns on a high note. Nepal won the toss and chose to field first, immediately making an impact as their bowlers struck on the very first ball of the game. They continued to take wickets at regular intervals, never allowing the Malaysian batters to settle. Nepal's skipper, Puja Mahato, led from the front, taking an impressive four wickets, while Rachana Chaudhary provided excellent support with three wickets. Riya Sharma and Seemana KC chipped in with one wicket each, as Malaysia were bowled out for just 45 runs in 16.5 overs.
Chasing a modest target, Nepal approached the innings with determination, aiming to secure their first win of the tournament. Puja Mahato once again showcased her all-round brilliance, top-scoring with 23 runs off 32 balls. Nepal comfortably chased down the target in 11 overs. For Malaysia, Marsya stood out as the lone bright spot, claiming all three Nepali wickets and finishing with figures of 3/18 from her four overs.
Puja Mahato’s exceptional performance with both bat and ball earned her the well-deserved Player of the Match award.
