BANGADESH v NEPAL, MATCH CENTRE
Bangladesh beat Nepal by five wickets
Bangladesh proved to be too strong an opponent for Nepal in a one-sided encounter. After winning the toss and electing to bowl, Bangladesh's bowlers dominated, bowling Nepal out for just 52 runs in 18.2 overs. Jannatul Maoua was the standout performer, taking two wickets for just 11 runs in her four overs. Nishita Akter and Mst Anisa Akter chipped in with a wicket each, while five Nepalese batters were run out.
Despite a shaky start to their chase, with Nepal reducing Bangladesh to 11/3 within the first three overs, a vital partnership between Sadia Islam and captain Sumaiya Akter steadied the ship. The duo guided Bangladesh to victory, reaching the target in 13.2 overs and securing two valuable points.
PAKISTAN v USA, MATCH CENTRE
Match abandoned
Unfortunately, the highly-anticipated match between the USA and Pakistan in Johor was abandoned without a single ball being bowled due to relentless rain.
Both teams will share the points in Group B and now look forward to clearer skies in the days ahead.
