Matthews shines again as West Indies stay unbeaten in Pakistan
West Indies captain Hayley Matthews has continued her unbelievable recent run of form to lead her side to an impressive seven-wicket victory over Pakistan in Karachi on Sunday.

Matthews collected figures of 3/25 to help restrict Pakistan to 121/7 in the second T20I of the series at National Stadium, before smashing her 11th T20I half-century in another Player of the Match performance to help guide the Caribbean side to a 2-0 series lead.
It means Matthews has now won the Player of the Match award in seven of her last eight T20I contests for the West Indies, with the skipper amassing a superb record in the shortest format in an ominous sign for opposition sides ahead of this year's ICC Women's T20 World Cup.

Since the completion of last year's T20 World Cup in South Africa, Matthews has scored 503 runs from eight innings at an imposing average of 71.86, while also picking up 17 wickets at an impressive bowling clip of 10.47 with her more than handy off-spin.
Matthews was named ICC Women's T20I Cricketer of the Year 2023 in January this year and her form so far in 2024 suggests she is well in the mix to claim the coveted award for the second consecutive year.
The West Indies skipper picked up the key wicket of Pakistan counterpart during her penultimate over in the second T20I on Sunday and then followed that up with another two scalps in the final over of the hosts' innings as the home side could only muster a below-par total after they won the toss and elected to bat first.
And Matthews was in attack mode early as she gave the West Indies a flying start to their chase, with the right-hander bringing up her half-century in just the 11th over and with her side looking in control of the match.
While Matthews fell to Sadia Iqbal in the 13th over for a well-compiled innings of 58 that included 10 boundaries, Chedean Nation (17*) and Chinelle Henry (8*) stayed composed to guide the West Indies home ahead of the third match of the series at the same venue on Tuesday.
