Mel Jones lands Order of Australia award
The Medal of the Order of Australia was established by Queen Elizabeth II in 1975, and was introduced to show appreciation for those who either achieved highly or had provided meritorious services to the country.
Jones' particular accreditation was within the 'general division', of which the criteria is 'service worthy of particular recognition'.
Today’s award is a reflection of the amazing people who have inspired me, helped shape my journey and who I have had the privilege to work and volunteer with. Thanks for all the messages, a very special day. #OAM pic.twitter.com/7EsqB89k1O
