Mohammad Amir and Haris Sohail to miss Pakistan tour of England
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) issued a statement today stating that the pair had both opted out of the tour citing personal reasons. Amir, who retired from Test cricket in July 2019 but remains available for white-ball selection, is missing the series to ensure that he can attend the birth of his second child in August.
Sohail, who scored a first-innings 75 batting at number six in Pakistan's most recent Test outing, will also miss the tour due to family reasons.
Pakistan are set to play three Tests and three T20Is against England in August and September and are expected to announce a 28-man squad for the tour in the coming weeks.
England, meanwhile, are due to play West Indies in a three-match Test series in July prior to the start of the Pakistan series.
