Netherlands name new head coach for women's team

Neil MacRae has been named as the new head coach of the Netherlands women's cricket team.

Neil MacRae will take over as the head coach of the Netherlands women's team, replacing Jeremy Bray, who had held the position on an interim basis. Shane Deitz, who left to coach the West Indies women's team, was the last to hold a full-time position.

MacRae, a former Scotland international, takes over from 1 April and has some major assignments up his sleeve.

His first major task would be the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier, which will take place in April and May.

“I am excited about joining the KNCB and working with the Netherlands Women’s Team.," MacRae, who formerly worked for a decade with the Jersey men's team, said.

"The Netherlands have a talented Women’s squad which has considerable potential to develop and improve further.  It will be great to start preparing for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier in the UAE which is a huge opportunity in April and May.”
