#OnTheUp: A bit of Fry and Cricket
So you look to poke holes in his massive intellect. You point out some of the strokes he’s missed out on in a video which is, as it is, all too brief …
Dig out. Hoik. Flip. Smite. Tip. Tonk.

That's just part of my list of words for hitting a cricket ball. I'm annoyed I left out nurdle. pic.twitter.com/fMdHpNnvUg Any others I'm missing? See my segment on cricket for the @voxdotcom and @Netflix show Explained: https://t.co/Bnc5fKmYcu
… only to find we’d been poking holes at a truncated version of the clip all the while. Fry had it all covered, as usual, and, well, never mind.
Actually they edited my list! I thought it was a bit short: here's the latest version, but it's a work in progress... pic.twitter.com/7xVLQtVhZN

Moving on to matters with which we’re comfortable, the big news over the weekend was Sri Lanka’s Test triumph over South Africa.
After a 2-0 victory in which they were only really frustrated occasionally, never really troubled, Sri Lanka were ecstatic. You can see the glee in their faces.
Ten points if you can spot Rangana Herath, by the way.
Fantastic win by the boys. Thanks for all the support pic.twitter.com/YtGNL3BVzU

Despite the loss, though, Dale Steyn, who equalled Shaun Pollock as South Africa’s highest Test wicket-taker with 421 strikes, was a tad gloomy at having to leave these picturesque shores.
Goodbye Sri Lanka 🇱🇰

You were fun, tough no doubt, but plenty fun. Look forward to visiting you again 🤙🏼 @ Colombo, Sri Lanka https://t.co/8HOZIXMRbO
Elsewhere, Kevin Pietersen had a rare sort of day, one in which he woke without wanting to go right back to sleep.
It sparked something in him, and soon, he was asking some pertinent questions, most of which wondered how WhatsApp made money.
Moving on, the association between Heather Knight and Smriti Mandhana evolved to legendary proportions with the former now calling for runs in Hindi!
A lot of fun batting with @mandhana_smriti yesterday. She taught me how to call in Hindi mid partnership!! 🤷🏼♀️ https://t.co/jdJtNZGCRd

The late great Rachael Heyhoe-Flint, a pioneer of the women's game and an ICC Hall of Famer, was commemorated at the La Manga Club, with her son present.
Our European #Cricket Performance Centre now exhibits Rachael Heyhoe Flint's commemorative plaque, Captain of the English Women's Cricket Team and one of the precursors of this sport at La Manga Club. Her son, Ben, showed his great appreciation for the recognition #lamangaclub pic.twitter.com/nPa3h8TINr

There was an example of Rashid Khan’s wit, which more than matches up to his skills with the ball.

And, finally, as the Beatles once said, all you need is love.
