Pakistan incur sanction for maintaining slow over-rate in third New Zealand ODI
The visitors have been fined for the third successive game in the recently concluded series against the Black Caps.
The Mohammad Rizwan-led Pakistan side have been fined five percent of their match fee owing to slow over-rate from their third ODI against New Zealand in Mount Maunganui.
The sanction comes on the back of a 3-0 loss for the visitors at the hands of the Black Caps to round up a dismal tour.
Jeff Crowe of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees imposed the sanction following Pakistan being ruled to be one over short of the stipulated target with time allowances taken into consideration.
In accordance with, Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to minimum over-rate offences, players are fined five per cent of their match fee for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time.
Pakistan skipper Mohammad Rizwan pled guilty to the offence after on-field umpires Chris Brown and Paul Reiffel along with third umpire Michael Gough and fourth umpire Wayne Knights leveled the charge.

This is the third successive instance of Pakistan being fined for slow over-rate from the series against New Zealand.
Having lost the five-match T20I series by a 4-1 margin, Pakistan ended the ODI series without a win as New Zealand dominated in all three matches.
