Pakistan unveil women’s central contract list for the 2024-25 international season
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a list of 16 players awarded central contracts for the 2024-25 international season, effective from July 1, 2024.
This marks a reduction in number from the previous cycle, where 20 players were given central contracts for two years with the provision that performance would be reassessed after the 2023-24 season.
Pakistan captain Fatima Sana and wicketkeeper-batter Muneeba Ali have been promoted to Category A, the highest tier, while left-arm spinner Sadia Iqbal has advanced to Category B. These upgrades highlight their impressive recent performances and growing stature in the game.
The list also features three new additions: Gull Feroza, Rameen Shamim, and Tasmia Rubab.
While Shamim and Rubab returned to central contracts for the first time since 2018 and the 2022-23 season respectively, Gull Feroza was awarded a central contract for the first occasion.
The contracts of Aliya Riaz, Anosha Nasir, Eyman Fatima, Nida Dar, Shawaal Zulfiqar, and Sidra Nawaz were not renewed as the board shifts its focus to nurturing the next generation of cricketers in line with the ICC Women’s Future Tours Programme for 2025-29.
However, the PCB emphasized that these players remain available for selection.
