Popular tactics for ICC Dream11 Classic Mode
The ICC Dream11 gives users a chance to win exciting prizes, if they top the league. Here are some of the basic guidelines that must be followed.
Use the free-hits on safe players in Round 1
A user will not know what form a player is carrying into the World Cup till he plays at least two games. As the tournament progresses, he/she will find it easier to assign free-hits to certain players in the ICC Dream11 team. However, this might be tough in the first few games. In such a scenario, go for players who are known for their consistency and have fared well in England rather than selecting “differentiator” players upfront.
Have a good look at the schedule
To pick a balanced side, follow the schedule well. Some teams might play two games in a single round, and hence have more players from that team, rather than from a side that will play only once in a single round.
Go for death bowlers
Opt for bowlers who will get to bowl at least three overs in the death, so they can get a few wickets when the batters are in a rush to pile on as many runs as possible. Often, the men with the willow end up mistiming the ball, which allows the death overs to pick up a few wickets.
Invest in big players
Often, users stack teams with players that not many Fantasy teams will pick to form a ‘different team.’ This is where they start digging their own grave. The obvious match-winners in the team need to find a place, or else you will fall way behind in the race. Stack up big names and fill in with differentiator players only to make up for the credits.
The choice of wicket-keepers
A wicket-keeper who bats in the top four is gold dust. Keepers generally earn 20-30 points with the gloves by being involved in caught behinds, stumpings and run-outs. If he bats higher up the order as well, he maximizes chances of scoring points as well. A keeper will always give you more fielding points than a player who fields. For better results, pick two wicket-keepers in the side.
Prefer all-rounders any day
All-rounders are never out of the game, as they can fetch points with either bat in hand or with the ball. While a batter might be out for a golden duck, or a bowler may go wicketless, an all-rounder has a chance to reverse his performance in the second innings. Hence, choosing an all-rounder (preferably one who bats in the top four or six and who bowls six to 10 overs every game) should always be preferred over a sixth bowler or a batter who comes below No.5.
