Ravindra Jadeja reveals why he was promoted up the order in the Asia Cup game against Pakistan
Jadeja, who was moved up the order to No.4 against Pakistan on Sunday, made a crucial 35, the joint-highest score for India, to help set up India's win in their first game in the Asia Cup.
Jadeja revealed in the press conference before the match against Hong Kong that it was a calculated move to tackle Pakistan's spinners.
"Sometimes, left-arm spinners and leg spinners are bowling, so sending left-handed batters is easy and they can take chances," Jadeja said. "That is why I was promoted."
Pakistan's spin attack had nearly brought them back into the game before Hardik Pandya's match-winning knock.

While Mohammad Nawaz picked up the wickets of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in quick succession, Shadab Khan kept a lid on the scoring rate with an economical spell.
"We had seen their (Pakistan) playing XI, they had a left-arm spinner and leg spinner," Jadeja said. "So I was aware that I could face this situation. I prepared myself mentally accordingly. Luckily, I went and my knock was crucial."
Jadeja was dismissed in the final over by Nawaz before Pandya sealed the game with a six off the fourth ball in the over.
India take on Hong Kong, who made it through the qualifiers, next in the Asia Cup on Wednesday.
"We are going to play against Hong Kong with a positive mindset and we will not take them lightly," Jadeja said. "On a given day, anything can happen in T20Is. We will give our best and play positively."
